This is NOT your typical Ultra race.

This is a wilderness adventure. Prepare.

The Midwest States 100 course is in a lightly traveled section of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The majority of the course is on Wisconsin’s iconic Ice Age Trail. The terrain in this area is difficult. Wild animals include bears. The course aid stations are spaced from 6 to 7 miles apart. This race is for the runner looking for a challenging wilderness adventure. The course will be well marked. We use reflective flags/tape. The race is a 34 hour cutoff because it will be needed to finish this race.

A small field of runners

The appeal of this remote location means there is not a lot of parking in the area. This means we get to have a cozy & small group of runners. Our race cap will sit at 300 runners.

Camping- you can add on camping for $20.00. This will give you a spot on a group campsite, you can have one- 2 man tent, and one car or one small camper van. No exceptions. There are other campsites in the park for larger groups.

NO CAMPING- is available at the start/finish line. We had issues with too many people parking their car in the restaurant parking and leaving it all weekend so we lost that ability.

Group “meet up”- Thursday at Mondeaux Dam Lodge, 6 to 8 pm

Race Entry includes:

Registration on ultrasignup.

  • 100 mile Finisher buckle, 100k Finisher buckle or 50k finisher medal.

  • Your 100 mile race entry is good to be either an official 100 mile or an official 100k finisher. When Runners get back to the start/finish line at the 100k point they can stop here and be an official 100k finisher, or head back out and go for the 100 mile finish. If you head back out for the 100 mile and drop later in the race, you forfeit being eligible for age group or overall awards.
